A Glimpse of Beji Guwang Hidden Canyon

Beji Guwang Hidden Canyon has existed for a long time. Beji in Balinese means a river that is considered sacred.

The canyon located in Guwang Village, Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency, Bali, is the result of natural river erosion that has formed a beautiful canyon since thousands of years ago. The canyon itself means a deep and narrow valley with steep slopes due to river erosion.

In the past, Beji Guwang Hidden Canyon was used as a place for fishing by local residents. In addition, there is also a Beji Temple around the river that has a water fountain, which is then used by local residents for drinking water and holy water for traditional ceremonies.

Beji Guwang Hidden Canyon is slowly becoming known to the public, both foreign and local tourists, because a photographer from Klungkung uploaded the beauty of this place on the internet. In fact, not many people know that the location of this hidden canyon is not far from Sukawati Art Market.

Since then, many tourists have started visiting Beji Guwang Hidden Canyon. The local traditional village began managing it as a tourist attraction. Then, on April 1, 2018, this tourist attraction was managed by the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) of Guwang Village as an entertainment and attraction service business.

To maintain the cleanliness of the river, to supporting facilities, visitors are required to pay a package price according to the number of visitors. In addition, tourists who visit are also not allowed to litter and fish in order to realize Bali Clean and Green.
