The Half Day Traditional Art Village Tour is a regular day tour that showcases the interesting aspects of Balinese art, culture, and tradition. This tour was created to showcase the uniqueness of Bali Island. Starting with a visit to Batubulan village to watch Barong and Keris dance, accompanied by traditional Gambelan music. The story of the Barong dance narrates the fight between good and evil. Barong is a character in Balinese mythology, the king of the good spirits and the enemy of Rangda. In Bali, each region of the island has its own protective spirit for its forests and lands.
The tour then continues to visit a traditional Balinese house with an old building concept. The Balinese traditional house is a product of the blend of Hindu and Buddhist beliefs fused with Austronesian animism, resulting in a house that is “in harmony” with the law of the cosmos of Bali Hinduism. The interesting layout of the Balinese house has several parts of the building, each with a meaning and function.
The next stop on the tour is the Art Painting Gallery in Batuan village, where visitors can see the local painter’s paintings in collaboration with traditional and modern styles. Generally, traditional hand painting is done with great detail and neatness, resulting in very satisfying and impressive results. It is very suitable to decorate the room of the house, restaurant, and hotel or villa room.
The last destination is one of the Tri Khayangan Village Temples, Batuan Temple. Etymologically, it comes from two words, “Kahyangan” means holy place and “Tri” means three, when combined means three holy places. With the belief that Hindus in Bali are the protectors of their territory, every village builds a Tri Khayangan temple.
